After photographing more than 77 weddings over the past 10 years, I have found that I am not the perfect fit for every couple. That’s why this process begins with a conversation. I want to hear everything—how you met, funny first date stories, and how y’all got engaged.
We’ll get to know one another, talk about the details of your day, answer any questions you might have about working with us and figure out if we’re the best fit for each other.

I want to be here as a resource beyond photography/videography—whether you're looking for engagement session outfit recommendations, timeline advice, or vendor referrals. I got you, boo. I get to do this wedding thing a lot so I might have the answers or advice that can really alleviate some of the stress that goes along with planning your big day.
Even if you're working with a wedding planner or you're planning a simple wedding, there are likely still a lot of moving pieces left leading up to your big day. I can easily say that I am kinda obsessed with weddings & I am an open book. I am happy to share everything I have learned along the way!
engagement session
I am a big fan of engagement sessions for a few reasons. Not only do they allow you to get comfortable in front of the camera, they also give you the opportunity to showcase your personalities in a more casual setting that is significant to the two of you. It also helps me learn the nuances of your love story so I can make sure I tell it in a way that is authentic to you!
Engagement sessions can take place anywhere from immediately following a proposal to just a few days before the wedding. We’ve found that there isn’t a “good” or “bad” time to take your photos. We normally plan sessions based on a particular “look” a couple has in mind, spring flowers for example, or based on schedules.
LOCATION
Once your date is reserved, we'll connect to start chatting about possible locations for your session. We generally recommend choosing one location and if it's a place you haven't been before, it might be helpful to visit during the time our session will take place. That way you have an idea of the light, crowds, closing time, etc! If you're not sure about where you would like to take your photos but you have a general idea of the look you would like, just let us know because we would be happy to recommend a few locations based on your aesthetic!
waRDROBE STYLING
If picking out outfits for photos takes you back to your high school days when you literally tried on everything in your closet and piled it on your bed but still felt like you had nothing to wear, you're in luck.
We put together an extensive outfit suggestion guide with tips for every member of the family (even Fido!)
The SEssion
On the day of your session, we'll connect to make sure the weather still looks like it's going to corporate. We'll exchange numbers and finalize our meeting location. Please plan for your session to take about two hours from start to finish.
DELIVERY
You can expect your photos to be delivered via an online gallery within about three weeks of your wedding. At that time, we'll also send over details about preserving your images through prints and albums.
We hope the relationship doesn't end after we deliver your photographs. We want to hear about the adventures of married life. And if you decide to have kids, we'd love to document your growing family.
KEEPSAKES
We are proud to offer our clients a variety of ways to turn their images into keepsakes. Wall-mounted canvas prints to decorate your home, beautiful handmade albums and more.

We check-in about two months before the wedding to start chatting about timeline specifics, special details, family formal shot lists, special traditions and anything else we should know about your big day.
While we normally don't send this questionnaire until closer to the wedding, please don't hesitate to let us know if you have questions during the planning process!

Located in Penticton, Evolve cellars boasts some of the most breathtaking valley views around. Using the lake & mountain as a backdrop while you say your "I Do's" allows for your ceremony images to become a true work of art. I love being able to capture the ceremony from all angles here, the ceremony site being nestled perfectly within vineyards is truly effortless. The reception locations have incredible decor & modern lighting installation that really add some upscale elegance to your reception.

One of the best vantage points for colourful Okanagan sunsets. Summerhill Pyramid Winery is the perfect blend of an elegant winery wedding venue with cute little "rustic" details. Around the property there are some neat features like rustic barn, a super pretty green house & a vintage pastel truck. The reception venue is unique as well with warmer tones, stonework pillars & looks fabulous with a some draping.

If you're looking for a truly whimsical & unique wedding location Linden Gardens is worth checking out. Vast gardens with ever changing colours through the seasons makes this a perfect location if you want a "lush look" and endless options for beautiful photos. There are a few ceremony site options to choose from & can make your wedding day look like an actual fairy tale. Beautiful paths through the gardens, cute bridges & a scenic lake lookout make this a great location for your wedding portraits if you are getting married in the Penticton area.

what to wear to your session
ENGAGEMENT SESSION
Engagement sessions are a great idea before your wedding day. It takes time for most couples to warm up to being photographed and understand how we pose. Timelines can be pretty tight on weddings days and 30 minutes may be all we have for portraits - which is why we’ve found that wedding day portraits turn out so much better when couples do engagement sessions ahead of time.
Sessions also allow you to showcase your personalities in a more casual setting that is significant to the two of you (and even include pets!) While they’re great for save-the-dates, we’ve taken engagement photos anywhere from 18 months in advance to a few days before the wedding.
HEIRLOOM ALBUMS
One of the best ways to make your wedding memories last is by ordering an album. These high quality professionally designed albums come in a variety of linen & leather colors. These aren’t the same albums your parents wedding photos came in. They’re modern, lay perfectly flat and look incredible on coffee tables.
All albums must be prepaid before design begins. Albums typically take between 4 to 6 weeks to complete and include three rounds of revision. Albums may be ordered anytime before or after the wedding day.

WE LOVE YOUR WORK & WE ARE READY TO BOOK
Fantastic! To reserve your wedding date, we’ll need a completed contract and a $500 non-refundable retainer fee. If you don’t have a contract yet, just let us know and we’ll send one over! The remaining balance will be due 1 month before the wedding.
HOW MANY IMAGES DO WE RECEIVE?
I am the kind of photographer who likes to shoot continuously throughout the wedding day, not wanting to miss a thing. I want to capture your day as its unfolding & sometimes the candid images can be the most special. You can expect about 100 images (minimum) per hour of coverage in your final galleries. Engagement sessions yield a minimum of 250 images for you to treasure.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
No one wants to look like a wet dog in their photos so if it looks like it's going to rain, snow, hail or some other weather catastrophe, we'll be in touch via email or phone to reschedule. Often, when we're scheduling our initial portrait session date, if it works for our calendars, we'll actually set up both a main date and a rain date just to make sure we don't have to postpone your session for very long if the weather is bad on the original date.
